I know, I know... it's a PLANE and a TOY, why is it here? It's just here as a "Hey, check it out" type of thing, so please don't get all flame-happy over it. If it's not for you, move on. Otherwise...this looks pretty cool! I've flown some $30 toy RC airplanes that sort of floated along and were fun, but this thing has some scoot--see the video here: http://www.jakkspacific.com/xpv/

Here's the PR:

Malibu, CA – Extreme performance is taken to new heights! Maneuver at incredible speeds on the ground, or fly over 20 stories high in the sky with JAKKS Pacific Inc.’s Fly Wheels™ XPV™ Xtreme Performance Vehicle, from the company’s Road Champs® division and award-winning Fly Wheels brand. The XPV Vehicle is an innovative and exciting toy that literally takes radio control vehicles to new heights, with an extreme level of speed and performance typically associated only with hobby-grade RC vehicles, yet is easily affordable and controllable for all consumers and speed racing
fans. Drive the XPV™ vehicle over concrete, grass and even off road,
at speeds approaching 20 miles per hour! Then take off and FLY over 20 stories high and up to 30 miles per hour! Put on a show for everyone to see by performing amazing ground AND aerial stunts with Fly Wheels XPV vehicle!
Each durable and lightweight Fly Wheels XPV vehicle has a sleek, high tech look and comes fully assembled. Add the special lightweight, high-powered Lithium Polymer battery pack (sold separately) and XPV is capable of flying up to 10 minutes with just one single charge, enough time to show off cool tricks and sky high action! The Fly Wheels XPV™ vehicle is the perfect gift for men, boys and anyone who loves speed! Suggested for ages 8 and up under adult supervision, XPV vehicles are slated to hit mass retailers nationwide and fly off shelves in time for the gift giving season, for a
suggested retail price of $59.99.

Yeah, cool idea :D

I saw something like this before, it was a speedboat made of foam, that had small wheels on the bottom, so you could drive it on the road (at pretty insane speeds, at that) go around on the water, and fly it at the same time!

Seems like something along those lines. It's really neat though :p

Some guys overhere in the Netherlands already produce them I think for over a year now. They called it the Hydrofoam (http://www.hydrofoam.nl).
Also they have a video (http://media.putfile.com/HydroFoam) too online to see how it flies. It seems they are a little difficult to fly, because of short wings (what wings?)

that thing is pretty neat. even though its electric it sounds pretty loud which im a nitro guy so i like loud. maybe if they can make a nitro version of one of the boat, plane, car thing that would be cool. i know that would be almost impossible because of weight but it would be awsome

It looks like a Hydro, is steered through throttle control, and has an elevator (the XPV does not have an elevator).

Storm Launcher at Target (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-11/qid=1152832232/ref=sr_1_11/602-2079528-5243856?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000ETRELK)

From my understanding (at a different board) - the SL was co-developed by the people that made the Hydrofoam. From video I found, the SL was vastly superior (cost $40 more - but looks to be worth it).

@ blktransam: It seems the models are only available at the Hydrofoam.nl website for now. Maybe you can mail them on any info and I don't know if they do sell RTR sets. Their mail address you can find in their site.

@ MikeBush2: How about these eye catching models from Ohiomodelplanes:
