when do i know to cut the comm on my p2k. i have about 50 pks. run through it. but the brushes look fine

it not the brushes you look at its the comm you should cut it after 10 runs or youll wreck your motor.youll be lucky if they have to do anything less than 5 passes.

Rc Freak, Try to keep it around 16 to 20 runs. If your not racing, or don't have a lathe it may not be that big of a deal though. 50 runs is definately a lot! Do you have a lathe or know someone with one? To get optimum life out of the com it's better to cut it often, but if you don't have acces to a lathe, it's a hassle & may be as well off to spend $11 & buy another arm. $11/50 runs...thats $.22 a run! If you bought another arm, you could have one cut while you run the other. If the brushes are still a good length, just clean them up a little & break them in again to mate with the new com diameter. i dont know anyone with a laythe. all i have done so far is playing arround.i am fixing to start racing. one of my friend said that the people at the track r very nice(they have given him alot of stuff,he wrecks alot)and i will ask them if they can cut my comm. btw my motor is starting to make a screeching noise at low speeds. thanks for all the help
