Fastest Blast

I am getting a Traxxas Blast and it will be my first boat. I do know that I want to upgrade it soon after getting it. I know I want to upgrade the sharf anf propeller. I Don't know much about R/C stuff works but I know that I will have to chang the ESC to change the motor. Does any one have any advise on what motor to get? Also should I water cool the stock motor for now?

probably wouldn't hurt it, plus you will have the hull all plumbed and ready if/when you want to change motors

Blast is a cool boat and was my first real electro. But in my opinion, there are better choices for the money as its a little expensive at $160.

I watercooled the motor, upgraded the stub shaft so that it could run an Octura prop etc. Ran on 7 sub C cells and it fly's on glass calm water. 6 regular C cells aren't enough to make it entertaining for me.

If was to do it again I'd lose the steerable outdrive as it robs power & speed. Replace with a strut/rudder combo. Then again, its a play hull & not much more.
