Is the Cyclone S available yet?

when i first saw the picture, i thaught it would be at least $225....but alot of shops are selling for around $150 with a Moorespeed body and wheels and tires! i cant wait to get one and see how she rolls.
$150!!!! I was thinking about $220-$240 as well... If it's only going to be $150 that's cRaZy!!

and some parts on it can be replaced with HPI pro 4 parts, so finding parts when u clip something is now that much easier

This car is really cheap and as competitive as the full blown version. We have it in my area now cheaper than a ta05 and it has threaded shocks. The only thing that's stopping me from buring it is the exposed spur gear like the tao5 so it means prepped tracks only.

then again arent most TC spurs exposed?

True. That's why I use my tao5 on clean tracks, my tbo2 for parking lots and tt01 for drifting. Losi xxxs had covers on the belt drive I think it was a really cool idea.

i am going with the xray t2r since a lot of racers here run the t2 and so on, and it seems like its worth the extra money check it out on teamxray.com

I've been away from RC for a long time... and the TC3 had just come out.. it was the car to get... the FT kit cost $350 or so.... what happened to prices since then... $500 for an electric on-road car, that's just a rolling chassis? WOW!

My friend has this car. All I can say is its an awesome car. But we have similar skill level so my tao5 is on par with this car when we run. But his motor is cooler using 19Turns. Mine is very hot after the run. So it must be a more efficient drivetrain for the cyclone. I might get the cyclone S seeing that its very cheap and the design is the same except for the plastic parts.

It could be... it could also be that you might be over gearing your Tamiya too.

I am in the process of building my Cyclone S. So far so good. I am loving all the new support with parts. Tower has added pretty much any part you will need. I'll post pics when I am finished.

Except for some printing errors in the manual during assemly, its an easy build. Lighter then my tao5. One thing that I messed up is overtighting the long screw and nut that tightens the plastic spacers on the top shock towers. I squished one of the plastic spacers that go throught the dampers.

Most probably it does. Most touring cars have the same wheelbase. My cyclone and my tao5 have the same location of front body posts. Only the rear is off on the cyclone so i just made new holes for it.

This kit has a very weak diff assembly. I just found out that most of the people that bought this broke the rear diff in a few runs. I thought it was only me. Whatever you do, dont follow the kit instruction on how to set the gear holders in the rear bulkhead. The belt is too tight so reverse it 180 deg until the belt is looser and you wont break your diff assembly. Theres no stock diff joint cup at my lhs and I'm stuck buying the alloy version which is a third of the kit cost!!

Interesting thing I found out running in a big indoor track for nitro recently is that the motor is cooler in the cyclone s than my tao5 with the same gearing and equipment. Must be the lighter weight.

Ok this sucks. I now have broken my front diff cup joint this time. I ran 23 turns on a high bite nitro track.
Same part that broke in the rear diff cup joint which is the center plastic. So now I have to get another aluminum diff cup joint which costs another $40. With my cyclone s I upgraded the pulleys, spur gear holder and shaft, alum shocks, plus the two alum diff cup joint, its near the cost of a standard cyclone. I should've bought that instead and I get all the upgraded parts and graphite parts as standard.

I am thinking about picking this one up. I saw a friend with one today and she ran really smooth. For real, I was surprised. I might pick up the graphite chassis an upper brace as well and see what I can do with her....
Might be my new parking lot basher.

What is the advantage (if any) of running Cyclone with front one-way along with center one-way (HB70726) , compared to running front one-way along with regular center pulley (HB70725)?

anyone know of a way to retrofit a 48p spur onto the Cyclone??? or does anyone know of a company that sells 48p spurs for them already???
I'm going to be running a 4.5R Velociti brushless setup on this, and i'm seriously afraid of just melting the 64p spur teeth!!!! *oooohhwweeeee!!*
