Im trying to purchase a controller/reciever for my on road car and im getting a headache trying to figure which one to get. I really dont compete I just want to motor around a parking lot during my spare time to relax. I see all these MHZ ratings and different channels ratings and prices running $300 for a kit  . I just need to be steered in the right direction for what im trying to accomplish. right now I have a nice rolling chassis that i want to build up. can I get a little assistance? thanks..

i know how you feel. about 2 years ago I bought an airtronics m-3. really nice controller with a lot of nice features that will suit you fine for bashing and racing. has a lot of the same features as the m-8, one of the most popular radios around. i believe the m-3 ran me around 120 and it comes with a nice reciever and some decent servos. i am not too good on the techinical advice though when it comes to controllers and whatnot so someone else will have to add their input on that. i just know that i have had good succes with the controller so far.

If you don't need a radio to race just get whatever you can afford. All my radio's are AM and I have encountered zero glitching problems and they are cheap. However when I do race I will get a new radio with all the goodies.

I use mostly Futaba radios, even in the beginning I used the Magnum Jr for racing or 2PD am instead of the 1025PCM. Now I use the 3PJ, 3PK for seriuos racing but the 3PM also works well, and price isn't bad $129 to $149 depending on servo while the Synthesize versions are higher.

Your choice of radio pretty only really depends of what youre going to do with your model. There's a lot that can be done, so theres plenty of radios out there.

If youre by yourself just out running somewhere, you wont need anything more than a nice $20-35 radio. You dont need to worry about channels or am/fm or mhz or anything until you start running with other people.
