hey everyone, looking to get an offroad electric buggy, any suggestions? i've already got a 1/10 touring car, but the offroad stuff looks like tons of fun. not looking to race, just bash. im also looking for a kit, not a RTR cause most of the fun for me is the building. price is not a big issue, but im not looking to drop a ton. any help would be great.
thanks!

oh and case you didnt know, those are the same chassis just body style preference (psst! Rising Storm) :D I have a gravel hound and I regret the classic sand rail styling as opposed to the modern sleek racing machine.
but i think the performance and performance hop up potential, or lack there of, will dissapoint and get boring after a while, the motor mount only allows proper gearing for like a 19 turn motor and above. try something like this:

that is not quite racing material, but if you ever want to try that could compete with a XXX-4, or maybe even a BJ4 if the driver is good. and the hop up potential is quite good and the chassis does not limit your motor/electronics choices like the above, so this car will let pour as much performance into it as you can afford. the rising storm will hold you back from improving as a driver in off-road b/c if you cant stick a mod motor in there you will never be able to learn how to handle race/make the neighbors stare power. this chassis will never hold you back.
yeah same chassis, for $5 I would go rs for looks, cheapy beginner car that car take alot, I'll let my wife and buddies drive mine as they can only destory $100 worth at once lol. I must admit I have rising storms so I may be a little biased.

My first car was my Associated T4 Factory Team Kit. I love it. It is a great basher with a ton of hop-ups that can make it more basher proof but also if you want to get into racing it has a proven history of racing behind it.

geez that was fast responses. thanks for all the suggestions. I'd have to agree a little with B4 stealth: i have a tamiya tourer, and it was my first car. was kinda disappointed with the lack of hopups and primitive suspension. altho the price is high for the sb sport buggy, especially w/o electronics. as for the t4, im looking for more of a buggy. got some hard choices to make!

Tamiya Dark Impact ftw, its much much better than the RS.
the sv has an open spur gear, not good for bashing IMO, you better check around as they have a horrible reputation for parts supply also, if you feel like you want something along those lines and cost I would say Kysosho ZX 5, but once again open spur can be troublesome for bashers. My DF 02 sports a final drive ration of 12.847 enough for 11 turn motors and has the option of 14.56 which should be good for at least 9 turns on buggy tires, this was accomplished with a $20 mod and some time combined with good luck. Metal diff gears hold up great, guys run 11.1 volt brushless systems in these cars without gear failure just so you know.
