i have a few tips for ya. i'll look and see if i have some pics too.
first...to "detongue" a prop (remove the leading edge) get yourself an old stub shaft w/drive dog and prop nut (or some other suitable piece to be an arbor). chuck that up into a drill press and spin it at a low/medium rpm. you'll want to orientate the prop so that the drive dog end is down. use a sanding block to start removing the tongue. BE CAREFUL! (btw...you can also use this method to reduce diameter)
second...to "barr cut" a prop, get a 1/8 file (maybe slightly larger if it's for a big prop). use the file to put a semi-circle cut into the area where the trailing edge fo the blade meets the hub.
to back-cut...use a flat file to remove the trailing edge. this is done at an angle from the tip of the blade to the hub. i know that there are a few that say a 5-8 degree angle is best.

there are some other things that you can do, such as tip rolling ( a technique i'm learning right now) or re-pitching. some folks have put barr cuts into the leading edge, haven't tried that yet myself.

most important is the sharpening, balancing and polishing of a prop.

here's on of my favorite props. this is an x632 that i use for one of my 'riggers. it has a barr cut, and part of the tongue has been removed.

Tom1...Check out www.rcprops.com

Plenty of pic's and tech write-up on modifying props. Most of Paul G's stuff is for larger gas props, but the principles apply to all props. RC
