I just built my Associated T3. I owned a Traxxas Rustler before the T3. One of the reasons why I bought a new truck is because the Rustler was SO LOUD! Now that I have my T3, it is almost just as loud. All of the guys at the track have SUPER quiet cars. How can I make my truck as quiet as theirs?

Your spur/pinion mesh may be wrong (probably too tight). As long as your diff is built correctly, that mesh is all I can think of.

I was thinking more along the lines of the actual transmission. Do you lube the tranny itself?

Sounds like you got used to the rustlers tranny and really caked the tranny of the t3. The t3 needs nearly no greese compared to the rustler.Check your manual. It should tell you exactly how much to use.Try this, take your motor out,And pull your cvd's off. then spin the spur. If it doesnt spin freely then you have way o much greese. Rebuild with less and it should work fine and VERY quit.

Motors also make a ton of noise if not lubed or the bushings(in stock motors) could be worn out, get a mod with bearings or new bushings

Associated trannies require no grease between gears, just in the diff and thrust bearing. I don't reccomend greasing the gears at all.

I didn't use any at all (like the manual says), thats why I asked if I should have. It has a mod motor w/ bearings. They have been lubed. Hyperdrive fluid? Does this make a difference?
