OK... Here's the REAL forum...

Why is the T3 the best electric off-road truck?

1. Stealth transmission

2. ???

I personally Think that the T3 drives Smoother myself"even being a losi man".But the xxxt Has more of a feel as a race truck and is the all around better truck . some may dissagree but that thats just my two cents.

i would like to see more T2's, they are bloody fast, same with LXT's, my cousin has one that he never uses, i want to get it from him, but he lives in cali, next time i see him, i will get it http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

2. Let me see if i can answer this......uummm you have to push the truck harder to stay on pace...due to its docile mannerisms. On the other hand you have the Losi XXXT with the layed back driving style that is easyer and handles better on the track. Hopefully when the T4 comes out they will not use the same suspension as on the T2 and T3.

I have a FT t3 and it rocks! And there is a guy at my track that runs a T2 and it flies, his truck is in Jan 2001 issue page 34. The t2's are as fast as the t3's!

Why is there ALWAYS a "AE is better!" or "Losi is better!" ?? I realize bench racing is fun sometimes, but this is getting silly. If most of the people were actually old enough to drive, we could ALL get together and have a race off. Oh well. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

good point oyster but people do have opinions...

This is just like fighting over Ford and Chevy. No one is going to win cuz they are both 2 awsome companys and are leading the way for r/cer's everywhere....am i right? I have nothing against AE they make top quality cars and trucks just like Losi does. I lean more to the Losi side cuz i just like them. I had a T2 a while back and it took me to win my first TOP track record at my local track and it still stands today! This year im going to try and break my old record with my new Losi. Some ppl like Losi and some ppl like Associated. I can't stand the ppl that put down other companys when they don't even have a car/truck from them. If your going to diss on a company at least have some reason instead of they just BITE and so on. Trying to keep it clean here....LOL... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ravenmt, yes, people DO have opinions, and I posted mine.

I said it before and I'll say it again, it is personal preference, and I just prefer AE over the other car makers.

alot of us have gotten in to this hobby because of the compition, and i think that the " mine is better then yours" is a side effect of the competitiveness(?) in most of us, it makes it a little more intresting, it is just apart of bench racing, even in fullscale racing it go's on.
As long as people are not getting out of hand or beating each other over the head i dont see anything wrong with it.

Granted I am a die hard AE fanatic, but let me say my bit. I have both LOSI and AE trucks and buggies. I'll be perfically frank with you, they are almost the same. I'd have to say that gearing - motor choice - and driving are the deciding factor in what car per say is better than another.... Just my two cents.

Just aone more thing, having read some other posts above. I've seen sponsered champions take a RTR car and win races, at the same time I've seen individual racers spend thousands and thousands of dollars buying all sorts of cars, buggies, trucks, and never win a race......

Driving style, I'm telling you!

OKAY Fellas...

I guess that topic wasn't such a big hit after all. Maybe this one will be more interesting than AE vs Losi:

Which products are better, Tamiya or Traxxas?

Bring it on...

Car- Accociated, I won't say anything bad about Losi cuz i have never drivin one.

Parts, Associated, i have never had traxxas or tamiya parts, so i cna't talk about them.

So my post about AE vs Losi wasn't that interesting, most ppl i know have either one of the cars or trucks from those companys! LOL I was bored one late night and decided to post it you know how it goes! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Digital6,

Exactly. It's all in the driving. Could Kinwald and Francis win a big IFMAR or ROAR race with AE B2's this year? You **** right they could, cuz they can drive!

but heres why losi is better:

- a three gear tranny is a three gear tranny. the gears are made out of the same stuff pretty much, the smallest amount of drag the losi ones have, which i doubt there is any more, is always outweighted by the tires. and so it makes no difference.
the rebuilt time is the same, but the losi is EASIER TO GET OUT and work on.

the xxxt suspeion is much better, and because of that, its much easeir to drive, and it also jumps much better.

however i have found both of them to be of the same durablity, give and take.

but the losi isnt going to be replaced very soon!

How many gears is the Stealth? The Losi does have a weak link though. It's pivot blocks are weak. Many people are having to upgrade that. Perhaps not right away, but they are noticing slop in the suspension. Bad news. Good thing the fix is pretty cheap, but Losi should do something about that.

i am pretty sure three. which every single offroad racer (2wd) has. even the gas ones. cept for the new xxx nt. but thats besides the point.

and only after 6 months of use did my pivot block brake, and i replaced it with the alum one, and this weekend i will find out how well it works. it also looks very trick.

My son and i both have xxxt's and would not trade them for any other, but that rear pivot block is fragile, we broke several until we replaced them with aluminum, now its very rare that we DNF cause somthing broke.

I have a XXX-T and i have found that it is very easy to work on, 3 screws and you have a diff off. Another 3 screws and you have the diff open. I would have liked threaded shock bodys but the shocks thats in the kit are the most smothest iv ever raced with. I like the idea of having little slots to run your ESC wire under the batt to the reciver. The way this truck handles on the track is awsome! Everything i have thrown at it takes with ease and allways lands on all fours unless you really want it not to. It has the killer slamed look to it. The dropped center of the chassis and battery tray lowers the CG without sacrificing ground clearance. Also the sealed Teflon bearings is a big plus in the kit! Only thing i have to complain about is trying to understand the dual-disk slipper. Well thoses are just some of the reasons that makes this truck top dog in my book!

En la lucha de Losi y *** . es cuestion de estilos.Manejar los caros es lo esencial.Entre Traxxas y Tamiya,Tamiya es el rey

Ok I purchased a Losi XXXT and threw a Novak Rooster ESC, Futaba Servo and Reciever, along with a Green Machine 3 motor.
Same Electronics in my RTR T3 (With Ball Bearings)

Drove them side by side, result =

Handling - Tie
Speed - AE
Jumps/Bumps - AE

Having done this twice, once officially with my race club, I sold my Losi and am now officially 100% AE loyal.

My comment above about driving style still sticks, but side by side we all saw AE come out the winner.
