I WANT TO GO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I just got my XXX running and the thing is fast. I knew I wouldnt be as fast as some of those buggy stock guys at my track though. Ok so what do they have that I dont? I am Running a Novak Atom ESC, P2k motor, Deans connectors, 2000 batts and up and jr XR2 Radio Equiptment. That is what a lot of the guys are running. Most are running the cyclone though. Does the Cylcone make that much of a difference. I mean like 10 MPH+ difference. The thing I cant figure out though is thatthey have monster accel too!? How come they have so much speed without losing accel. I what to be able to race with these guys, but HOW!!! Please Help! Oh also I have heard some of you have 40 MPH cars! What do u DO!

1- battery could be of lesser quality than theirs.
2- Cyclone is 140 more amps drawn, so yeah that COULD make a differce
3- Cyclone on resistance -.00058
Atom o.r.- .001
Atom has more resistance so its less efficient
4- Gearing- ask them how they gear it
5- Tires- see what they use
6- Shocks- see what they use also

If you want to go REAl fast get a modified motor. thats where the speed is. My xxx is blazzing fast.Mods the way to go.

You can go fast with Stock too. I have a Orion Chrome RS in my XXXT and I can do more then just hang with the Modified class. You don't have to have a mod to go fast. You just got to have some good power to reach the motor....matched packs, good ESC, well kept motor, good connections, a good set up to handle the jumps, good tires...I could go on all day. Stock class is just as good as Mod class or even better. Pay attention to what the "fast guys" are running and just kept everything in good shape. Also you got to look at why the fast guys are so fast...maybe cuz they have been racing for a long time and their driving skills are good. Keep it real, spend time at your track and work on your driving skills and get to know the track your racing at. That's my 2cents.

Do you have the brushes the motor come with. If you do you shoulfd get better ones. i like the reedy 767s they worked great in my p2k. also your pinion i had a 17 turn on mign and the spur gear i dont know what kind i know the lower you go on spur gears the faster

If you dont want to race but go fast you should get a D4 i have one right now in my truck and there very quick i can do wheelie from a dead stop but i think i have to loosen my slipper cluch cause i justs destroyed one of my gears in my trannsmission.

Actually, with a XXX, buggies, they are geared much higher than trucks do to the smaller tires, but just barely got back from the track, and i just kept going one tooth lower on the pinion, and i liked the performance i was getting, i now am at a 21 instead of a 23, with an 82 spur.

But real speed is with mods....
