Im looking to maybe get a new radio at $100 and under, so i broke out my trusty rcca 2001 buyers guide, (thanks) and i saw a advertisment for a JR XR2 Computer radio for $99.99, and i saw looking for a airtronics XL2P radio, and theres only like $15 differance, so is the JR XR2 a good radio?
any one have one, ups downs?

If you want an AM radio, the XR2 is a great radio for the money. For $100 you get some really good features (like a 3 model memory) usually only found in the more expensive radios.
I'd say go for it! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I don't have a XR2, but the 3-model memory allows you to store setups for 3 different cars in the radio. That way you can use one radio for all your cars, and not have to worry about changing the radio setup each time. Makes buying a new car less expensive, all you need is a new reciever (rather than a transmiter too). The setup (I have an Airtronics M8) is easy and so is switching between cars. A computer radio is leaps and bounds above the older technology. If you can afford one, go for it!

XR2 only has 2 model memory. The FM XR3 has the 3 model. I have the XR3 and it's SWEET! It controls my B2 and XXXT flawlessly. The JR XR series doesn't have as many cool features as the more expensive ones(ABS, adjustable power/throttle curve etc), but you get all the ones you need and as they all said, GREAT VALUE! Digital trims are the best, don't have to worry about your steering trims getting moved while you are transporting your radio. Programming is very simple, you won't be disappointed!

The JRXR2 radio is great. I have always liked JR even when I used to fly planes and helicopters. I only run JR. My XR2 has been one of the best radios I have ever had. The reason its not the best is that I got the JR R1 now. You wont be disapointed. Good Luck

ok, im going to go with a JR XR2 if i get my car if i do it will be in 1-2 weeks. But ill have to save a few weeks (ilneed about $40 so shouldnt take to long) and get the radio.
Ok now heres were i need your opinion. I have a traxxas nitro rustler that i race, and a t-maxx. This radio is going to control a Yokomo MR4TC V-Spec saden.
I heard it is better to use 75MhZ becuase of more channels, but i have all the 27MhZ crystals. SO should i get a 27MhZ radio to control my car and nitro rustler, or should i go with the 75 MhZ and tkae a chance of me having to buy new crystals when some one is on my freq.?

Ooooh, tough call on the crystals...you'll have to look at cost. Since you already have all 6 of the 27 band crystals, I'd go with 27. For 75, all you really need is 3 crystal sets, so it'll cost you an extra $40 for 2 more.

Hey
Im with guterball on the radio. Ive got the 3 also(its also fm). If you want am go with the two, but if you have all those cars already, for another 50 bucks you could have the 3. Either way 27 band is making a come back. Its clear and there arent many people on it but traxxas rtr guys.

Ive got an Xr 2 and it is a good remote its easy to use and i like the digital steering trim it can hold up to 2 different car memorys and ot comes with a reicever and 2 servos so all you need to program it for two cars is another reciever.
