I can't help ya man, sorry. I have never pulled out, cut, etc my antenna before, but I'm guessing it won't affect the range of your rc car very much but it could make your cars frequency more twitchy, thats just my guess though. Sorry i couldn't help ya more.

Later RC X

My Futuba reciver came off (the dublue sideed foam stuff gave up) when i was racin my 4-tec, and it took the hole antenna totally off. I opened up the case, saw where the antenna was sposed to be, took some black tape and taped it up, and raced away. When i got home to my soldering iron i soldered it back on and it works better then my traxxas tq reciver. I think you could just solder the end of it back on, but good lick on trying to thread that thing thru the little tiny tube..
hope this helps! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

I pulled out my wire so far out you couldn't see it. all I had to do was open it up and solder the 12in piece back on the circut board!! it took me not even 5 minitues.

If you haven't yet, check your topic at RCMT. Devastator's suggestion is what I am doing, since I did the same thing.

ASD,

I recently did the same thing, and simply made a new one. Many shops will carry new antenna wire, but so does a local hardware shop. The Antenna wire itself is just a 1/2 meter piece of 22 ga. wire. (If I recall correctly, that is the length specified for 27 MHz radio (mine is the JR XR3).

If you are pretty good at soldering wires, this is not a difficult task, but be very careful when doing it that the solder does not get onto any of the other connections. Also use a lower heat soldering iron, that way you don't melt the expensive receiver!!!

Step 1) CALM DOWN MAN!!!!! You can think of a solution when you arent screaming your head off

Step 2) If it was your antenna tube, get a new one. They run pretty cheap

Step 3) If it is your antenna wire, I cant help you, talk to the dudes at "Troublkeshooting" in the RCCA
