I have a question for all the racers out there. Are there any tricks that you do to your motor to get more horsepower. I keep it cleaned with motor spray. It is a Green Machine 3 Pro and a P2K Pro. I have Trinity Silver brushes and the stock springs. My problem is that I'm getting left on the straightaways. The drivetrain is smooth. I oil the bushing on the motor every 5-6 runs. The Green Machine is a new motor. It has 2 runs on it after I broke in the bushings. I am running Trinity 3000's and a Novak Fusion. I was going to buy a computer radio, but I tried driving with my cousin's, and it didn't help me. I have made it to the A-main the last 3 weekends. So far, that's a record. Any help is appreciated. Thanxs guys.

try gearing up

I've already got a 30 or 31 tooth pinion on the P2K. It all depends on the track.

It could be the lack of punch that the 3000's suffer from, or are you using the stock metal hydrides? Maybe try some 2400s. The P2K is supposed to be good torque, so maybe try the MVP for some higher revs to catch up in the end of the straight. Or drive your turns really well and exploit the torque of the P2K and get enough of a lead where the straightaway does not matter at all.

How long a straightaway are we talking? Because if you gear too high you will never get to top out, hence you will get blown away.
First, I'd try using the GM3, gear it just a little lower than you do your P2k (higher rpm, lower gearing should get you a good bit of punch coming out and should let you hit top end quicker.) Then start adjusting from there.
If that doesn't get you the results you want.. lower the teeth on your spur and increase the pinion teeth.
Just a couple of thoughts..

Something real basic: Are you sure you have your ESC setup correctly? I don't know about other brands, but with Novak you have to do a setup so the ESC knows exactly how far the "throw" on your radio throttle is. It could be you just aren't getting maximum response from you ESC.
Other than that, I would even try gearing down. 31 teeth is an awful lot. I started out with 28 (I have an MVP) at Delta with my TC3, and I was smoking everyone on the straights but was losing ground on the curves. I am now down to 25, which seems the best to me.
Even with a high torquing motor, you may not be getting that thing to its max with too much gearing, especially in a relatively compact track like Delta.

Right now, I'm running a 25/72 with my Green Machine. I can beat everybody(even some of the factory drivers) in and out of the turns.
I think I should gear up to a 26 tooth. Thanx for your help, guys.
