I'm thinking about getting a ultima sport and was wondering if anyone knows if it is any good for local community racing?

If you are going to seriously race I would get a Losi XXX-T. I believe it takes stick packs.

I'm not looking for a real serious racer just something to race with like 3 other people every sunday, thanks for replying and i looked at the xxx-t and it might be a good idea

Then either should be fine. Even a Traxxas Rustler. What are your buddies running

I dont really know what the others are driving, all I know is it's $20.00 to race all day. I already have a nitro stampede, so I probably wont get the rustler. i am also fairly new to hobby class r/c-ing

The Sport is not the really....I think i should say "race machine", if you want that, get the Ultima TYPE R, that is the race one, the sport and the TYPE R don't even share alot of the same parts, i suggest the TYPE R, the FTT3, or the XXXT for racing more than anything else, i would get the FTT3 if i was more on a budget, it comes with a TON of hopups out of the box, I would personally get the XXXT, but I am a Losi guy, and from what I understand, the TYPE R needs alot of suspension tuning(springs, oils)
