Monster Madness is fast approaching. It will be held again at RC Madness in Enfield, CT on Aug 12 and 13. Dust off those trucks and come on out for another weekend of fun. We hope to see you there. Here’s a link to the signup sheet.

$45....ouch. I guess that is one way to keep new racers away.

BriS, this is a large event, and people come from all over the country to attend. I often hear local racers talking about this race all year long. It is not a regular weekend, club race, and the $45 entry fee is well below what most national-level races cost. I don't mean to jump down your throat, but it gets old when people immediately have to try to see a negative in everything.

This race is going to be nothing short of amazing. You can bet on it. RC Madness is a top notch facility. The races there are organized very well and they make sure you have a good time no matter what. I would say that a novice or a pro can race there, for any of their events and still have a great expirience. As for the Monster Madnes race. There will be plenty going on in and around the track. Plenty of give-aways and tons of excitement. Radio Control Entertainment will be there also causing a scene trackside with their cameras and antics. Top drivers will be there. I've been waiting months for this race, I can't wait.
BTW: On an unrelated note, this thread isn't showing up in the hot news and stuff forum. I saw it there the one time, then it wasn't showing up anymore. I had to do a search to find it again.

Kev,
what's the latest on who's going to be there from RCCA? I know you'll be there...Matt? Paul? Pete? Paul should send his Brushless LST2 just for show!!
Later, I'll see ya on Sunday.

I want to go, but I'll be at another race. I have $20 that says Pete beats Kevin so bad that Hetmanski cries. Just kidding; gambling is bad, kids. Pete will still crush Kev, though.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be negative. I just started racing this year and I'm used to paying $15 for club races and $25 for RC Pro series races. $45 is out of my price range considering how much I've already spent between my trucks, radio, transponder, tires, batteries, hop ups, and replacing anything that has broke.
But I'm sure there will be a huge turn out still and I'm sure it will be lots of fun as RC always is.

That's cool. We're always glad to see more people racing, and we'd love to have you at this race--maybe next year. Big races aren't for everyone, and a lot of people would even bawk at a $15 club-race fee.

I'm pretty sure that no one in the E-Maxx class had a stock truck in the past.
MacII
08-02-2006, 08:27 AM
Regarding E-Maxx...I keep asking tracks to rename the class "Electric Monster Truck" or some such thing...last year none of the top 3 had what I'd call E-Maxx trucks. It's a very open class. I know you will see some pretty special Electric trucks there this year...I did call Chris Marcy and ask about rules and he did pretty much say what Kevin did...it's very much for fun and just about anything goes. He said if a lot of us have psycho hybrid trucks (which many of us do...) he MAY break it into a stock and mod class but he doubted it. I know of about 6 guys going with some very impressive E-MT vehicles. LOTS of diversity....very few Maxx based trucks.
It should be great.

Yeah, you would think they would want to try out the TNX 5.2R against the competition before it is released. At least it seems most companies do that.

After watching the "dialed" Revos run today I really, missed mine. The best part of the day was watching Paul Coleman and Mike Battaile dice with their truggy's at the end of the day. I just got back from MMadness. I had to leave early; well after my second qual. I'm sure they'll be running quals up until 9pm tonight. I will just take my points and run in the mains tomorrow. I had a ton of fun even though the wait took forever. My truck was dialed, i was hitting my jumps right; my only gripe was that i over tightened one of my front tires so that it acted like a brake. It cuased me to be a bit slower in my second qual but overall i was very pleased!!!!

I was gonna try posting pics...but at the bottom left of the page, there's that box that has the "Posting Rules"....that says I can not post attachments and that I also can not post new threads. Monster Madness was INSANE today. So many good drivers everywhere. I took 1st in BB MT (C main), then started charging hard in the B main. I managed to go from 11 to fourth with in the 1st lap but then fell behind around lap 8 due to a Turnbuckle that snapped in half!?... I managed to fix it in 2mins and get my truck back on the track within just enough time to get a couple more laps and finish! I swear i could have made it to the A main if that darn turnbuckle didn't snap. Oh well i still got my plack and am haning it in my RC Room. My T-Maxx was dialed to the Maxx! For those of you who saw some of the action I was the guy Spanish guy wearing the Suckfish Racing yellow shirt. I also had the Corona truck body (blue front/ white rear).
Definitely wish everyone could have been there!

I had new engines in both trucks and I was running them rich. My 3.3 went from the box to the truck. No mods were made. My 3.3 came off the track at 181 deg after the main. I guess I would have had faster lap times if I leaned it out a bit. :)
