I bought a used battery pack and it ame with a split shrink wrap on one of the cells. The previous owner claims it was from the high heat generated from running a 10T motor in his T3. Is this feasible, or is the pack toasted? The shrink is split to where you can see the metal can of the battery.

Thanks

It is definately possible. I have seen guys loose battery bars on 4wd cars with low winds. However it could also be a result of overcharging, which may or may not have caused a major problem. The only way to tell is to discharge properly, charge the pack, & see how it performs. Do re-wrap the pack if you keep it so as not to cause a short & smoke your speed control or receiver. Hope you didn't pay too much for them. Good luck.

The stuff is in pretty good shape. The truck is really clean and the radio is in good shape. The ESC had a crack in the case which I filled in and taped over. Otherwise it all works great. The batteries look well used, but they seem to charge fine. According to my BC112, they accepted about 2400 MaH each with a peak voltage in the 9.2v range. I am happy with the overall deal.
