I want to buy an electric car to run at the local indoor carpet track in my area.I've built and driver many nitro cars and buggies but i'm not sure what the best electric is.I'm looking at the ProII-$179.95,TA04-$214.95,and TC3 Team $199.95.I was wondering which comes the most hopped up right out of the box,and which is the most competitive? If it's not one i'm looking at tell me what is better than these. Also can you reccommend a top end motor and speed control combo. This will be a great help. Thanks

I would stay away from the Tamiya because of getting parts. The Tamiya is a nice car, but often when you need parts, like say a suspension arm, you have to buy the whole parts bag. So in order to replace one part, you have to buy the whole front end.

The TC3 and HPI are both nice cars. I own both right now and both are capable of winning, but if you're considering an HPI, I'd wait a few weeks and get a Pro3. Tower has a price of $209 on them right now. But the main thing you need to consider is availability of parts. It doesn't matter how nice your car is, it won't be very fast if you have to wait for 4 weeks to get parts. I would buy whatever your local hobby shop carries.

I have heard a lot of people complain about the TC3 being easy to break, but that has not been my experience.

If you can get parts for most any car, first of all you are very lucky. Second, any of the big name cars will do nicely. Associated, HPI, Yokomo, Ofna, etc. all make cars that are capable of winning with the right driver and right setup.

I would say get the TC3...if you have noticed this car has won a ton of races. It just set a speed record too...over 100 mph. SO it has to be durable...its also very light, has a ton of hop-ups available from about 10 different companies, and is super fast...it also has about 25% greater efficiency than the best touring car out there...so batteries are less critical, and you can gear higher. Of course the TC3 may break more(although i havent heard of this...ever) because of the awesome speed it has.

I say get Tamiya.

The TA04 is the best! I love mine and it's so fast. It's nice and refined and lots of hop-ups. Don't worry about getting parts, you can get anything you need from Tower Hobbies and you don't have to buy part bags to get parts.

I lost my king pin and was able to buy a bag of four instead of a whole new part bag. It was only $3.00.

Tamiya bodies are the best too, get the Pro version and get 1/10 Bodies to go with it if you're racing...

Just because they did 1 run at 100MPH doesnt mean that its strong.. After all they didnt show you the parts after that run did they??
What they used for that run has nothing at all to do with touring car racing. Check out what they used for a start. OK the run was great but it didnt make me want to rush out and buy one. Actually the run wasnt even 100MPH was it. It was like 87 or something.

Tamiya is the way to go, im not sure about onroad ( i run offroad ) but all the cars have good part support ( well at least the ones ive dealt with )

i say: you cant go wrong with tamiya, but also check your lhs if you have one, and see what electric cars they have, assmuming they do...

first of all it was 97 MPH and second the track depends on the choice if it is a wide open track that is big any car would work
but if it is a really tight track a AE would work best because of the accelaration and i have watched one race at a Oval course and it was running mod class and hit the wall at
about 50 MPH and it did not break a piece

I'd go with a TA-04... <isn't that obvious?> but if you want "out the box" competition, go with Factory Team TC3... it cost around $299... it comes with all the Factory Team hop-ups... the only thing you need are wheels and a body. it should be worth the investment... if you have the money.

Personally I think the Team TC3 is the best on your list. Most hopped up, and easiest to set up.

Go for LRP V7.1 or Cyclone TC or TC2.

I like budget mods best: Reedy Pulse and Peak Stratos for about $30 each. Getting handwound $60 motors will only get you that last 1-10% of power that you can't use unless you're a world class driver anyway.
