Geez, I just looked for one. I bookmarked a site a while ago that had plans for making a lightbulb discharger and a cut-off device, but my favorites list has grown to about 100 sites, and I can't find it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please post it (I think it's called Nascart).
I'll keep looking.

Whew, I guess I wasn't looking hard enough. I had bookmarked the main page, so the title was not what I was expecting.
Here's the battery dumper: http://www.nascart.com/bd.htm
And the cut-off device: http://www.nascart.com/disd.htm
I haven't built these yet, but I'll get around to it one of these days.
Hope this helps :D

I built that cutoff device about a week ago. Works just as advertised. Only thing I had to change was the resistor value to get the proper cutoff voltage, I ended up with about 65 ohms or so. (I didn't use the Rat-Shack relay, already had a used auto relay in my junk box....)
I use a set of lights like those on the site also, minus the flasher thingy. Made that several years ago. Used 10 bulbs rather than 12.

I just built one, it's pretty easy. I'm too lazy to build the cut off device though so I'll just order one. Wow, it's FAST!!! I figure it'll save some wear and tear on my Apex's because I used to use them to discharge. Now those bulbs get a bit hot, is there some kind of stand I should put them on? I don't feel comfortable leaving the bulbs lying on the table because I might start a fire!! Or is it okay? Just in case, I propped the device up on a piece of wood.

I built the auto-cut switch, but when I press the switch the lights comes on but goes off as soon as I let go of the switch...What am I doing wrong? I followed the instructions to the letter. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to correct the problem? Thanks for your reply.
