Age of HPI Super F1?

When was the Super F1 released and when was it discontinued? This is only my third summer in this hobby so I wasn't around when this car was out. The reason why I'm asking is because I have one coming in the mail in a few days and I'm trying to figure out a few facts about it to occupy my time while I wait. Its the brand new graphite version and its NIB.

Also do you guys think I should build it and drive it, keep it for driving on rainy days, or keep it in the box?

Well its obviously not dicontinued because your buying it. I would say biuld it because F1's look very cool when there bodies are painted. There was a super F1 in readers rides in RC Car Action quite a few months ago.

Man, I want one of those baaaad. I think it was released in 94-95 and dicontinued in 99. It comes with a 94-95 Michael Schumacher body, and that's why I think it was realeased back then.

Thanks GTMan. I can't wait for mine to show up. Its going to be awesome just to look and it'll be even better when its running. If you want one hurry up and get over to the HPI site and order it before they are gone. It was $125. It will probably say some place on the box when it was made (something like 1994 HPI Racing) so I guess I'll find out when it comes.

Its sort of funny; I was looking through the manual online and instead of saying "HPI Racing USA, 15321 Barranca Parkway, Irvine CA" it says "HPI Racing, 22600-C Lambert Street, Suit 904, El Toro CA". Oh well I'm really bored waiting for this car.

It is actually discontinued because the one I'm getting from HPI was one they had left over in the warehouse. They had about 100 left and they sold them on Buy HPI.

I saw that Super F1 in Reader's Rides and I liked it.

Man I'm so jealous. Little punk owes me 50 bux and I need that to et the car. I've looked at it all week, just wishing I could get one. The kid is going on vacation tomorrow, and he won't be back for two weeks. This is really bumming me out. First, I was about to buy one just before they were discontinued, and now I'm not going to be able to get it. If anyone would like to buy one, and then sell it to me for like 150, send me a private message or something.

Back in the day...lol about 5-6 years ago, i believe either june or july or there abouts, RC CAR ACTION, did a project HPI super F1. That thing was sweet! Had all kinds of goodies, brake lights, spark generators, custom body, and anyhop up you could have wanted back then. I was in teh 5th grade and i remember reading RCCA during readng time thinking how i wanted that car. RCCA even gave it away in some drawing, if you answered some F1 questions you got entered. Anyways just sharing my memories of the F1.

I got mine last week and man this thing is sweet! I just am waiting on my new ESC and then I'll be at the track. Tests with my old ESC show this thing is INSANELY fast with just a P2K Pro.
