Can some one out ther please tell me how far you can port a 25cc homlite engine. I would like to know how far on both inlet and out let. allso is it posible to put a curved manifold between cylinder and carby to place the carby behind the engine (i.e. twin engine both carbys at the front of the boat to make it easyer to hook up linkiges and mount the engines closer together)

borxy..This post has been around a while, but just in case you take another look here is some Homie 30cc (25 should not be much different) data:

Stock:
Intake: Open 60BTDC Close 60ATDC 120 deg
Exhaust: Open 77BBDC Close 77ABDC 154 deg
XFR's: Open 60BBDC Close 60ABDC 120 deg
Squish: 2.00mm

Enforcer (Old):
Intake: Open 67.5BTDC Close 65.5ATDC 135 deg
Exhaust: Open 79BBDC Close 79ABDC 158 deg
XFR's: Open 55.5BBDC Close 55.5ABDC 111 deg
Squish: .76mm

Cobra:
Intake: Open 65BTDC Close 65ATDC 130 deg
Exhaust: Open 80BBDC Close 80ABDC 160 deg
XFR's: Open 63BBDC Close 63ABDC 126 deg
Squish: 1.15mm

MAG3:
Intake: Open 75BTDC Close 75ATDC 150 deg
Exhaust: Open 82BBDC Close 82ABDC 164 deg
XFR's: Open 61BBDC Close 61ABDC 122 deg
Squish: .30mm

All of this was from the old Shark Racing site. I do not know how close the numbers are to other builders, but I have a mid 1990's 25cc Enforcer that degrees around 120 intake, 161 exhaust and 120 XFR and it goes about 38-40 in a Cracker. The emphasis on a Homie is the Squish band. To get power, most Homie builders cut the bottom of the jug a bunch. Some even make a tool to cut away the cast squish band at the top of the cyl to get even higher compression. Remember they are a much lower reving engine than a Zen, so don't get carried away with high port timings. To get an understaning of where to hack up a Homie check out Troy's: http://testfly.0catch.com/homelite/homelitemain.html

Good luck. RC
