It finally happened to me! I've never had a hung brush before. It took me forever to find out what it was. I thought I had cold solder joints on the motor tabs, so I redid them...nothing. I thought my ESC was broken, nope, it worked. I checked the brushes and they were still good, put them back in, still no go. I accidentally dropped the motor and it whirred up. So I took it apart and cut the comm. This time it worked! Guess I "fixed" the brushes when I took them out. BUT after a few minutes of run time, the motor cut out again. So I pressed one of the brushes in and the motor worked. Now, how do I fix this properly?? I just soaked the brushes with comm drops, hoping that would lubricate the brush hood so it wouldn't get stuck. Is that the right way to fix it?

theres really no proper way but a thorough cleaning with motor spray and relubing should to it.

Gutterball, There's either a bur on the brush holder, or the holder is too tight at a spot. It sounds like you know which side was hanging, so thats a good start. Try slideing the brush in & out & see what it feels like. If you look closely with a hand held scope or a magnifying glass you'll see whats hanging up. At any rate take a small file, or a something that you can wrap with some fine sandpaper (#220 or so) & slide it through the holder a few times . It's also possible, although unlikely ;) that the brush spring was not set properly. Joe

Okay, thanks all..I'll look for any rough spots, reclean the brush hood and make sure the springs are nice :)
