running a TA04 with a Rooster.. which has a 16t limit.. i just use it for bashing.. but the 540 it came with is slow slow slow..

any tips on a good faster motor (that want drain batteries too much)

i got sick with my 540 in my tamiya so i replaced it with a reedy rage type r 27t stock and it definatly made a differance but if you can go down to 16t try trinitys chameleon or a speed gem

A 19 turn Chamelion would be a good choice if you don't mind a little shorter run times & having the comutator cut now & then. They would be plenty fast for bashing. Use a hard brush for more durability & longer run times. The Rage is not a bad motor but Reedy has just released a newer version called the "MVP" (by Reedy) that has a lot more torque & still revs about as well. A P2k has more torque , runs cooler, & is a in my opinion a more durable motor because it runs so cool. Make sure not to exeed the speed control ratings if you go with a hot mod motor. Hope this helps.

hmm a D4 would be really sweet in that machine... but since you got a rooster... i'd opt for the speedgem 16t or the 19t chameleon...

I put a P2K in my TC3 and it is pretty quick, I am using a crappy 1500 pirahna pack I got for my electric start nitro rustler. the thing does run very cool with the stock suggested gearing, but does anyone know if I can maybe gear it for some more speed without hurting anything? later
