Hi, Ive been having alot of strange range problems with my truck. I can't figure out what is causing it, but the only thing that I can think is causing the problem is a loose antenna. The very top of my antenna is loose and always falls down and can't stay pulled out all the way. Is this my problem?

Always make sure your transmitter and reciever battery packs are fully charged is my first thought. If you are using rechargables cycle them down as low as you can get them. I made a single Bulb discharger for my Receiver packs and once in awhile I will cycle them until the light goes out then recharge them. Since I have an ICE charger I can see how much MaH go back into the Charge after I cycle them. Generally get about 1000 MaH charge on a 1100 MaH NiMH receiver pack.
You can do a little squeeze with a pliers on the antenna to make stiff again at the top of joint where it falls. Just do not squeeze to hard

If you are referring to the antenna on radio, as long as most of antenna is extended you shouldn't have that much of a problem. The problem could be from several things depending on when you noticed it start to occur.
With the radio check to see that antenna is secured (the ones that are screwed and unscrewed), the case may have to be removed then check inside of radio where antenna is mounted to make sure a screw or wire hasn't come loose or wire corroded. Make sure crystals aren't causing the problem, they could be installed wrong RX installed in radio socket or vice versa or one may have gone bad. Check receiver and make sure it is operating and antenna is not near any of the power wires. Check servo(s) they can develop problems that can cause radio reception a bad servo motor or strip gears can draw excessive voltage that reception or power is interrupted. For electric vehicles be sure motor has the noise suppression capacitors installed for Trinity and Orion/Peak make sure they haven't gone bad, those are installed either under the brush hood hardware or on end of endbell end of motor. The diode or circuit board will turn a dark color if one is bad. If brushes have worn that may intensify reception problem.
