Apparently Trinity is going to release a P2K-2. Anybody know anything about it?

Where'd you hear this? maybe its project p-94 "The p2k-2 will change modified racing forever b/c our new p2k-2 will make everyone jump to stock, and nothing but stock" or it will be some motor with someones initials stamped on it.
:p

does anybody have one yet? I got some on back order from 3 different places, but no one seems to have em... Oh well if you do have one, what pinion are you running? Mine is going into a T3, for offroad racing on a relatively flat track. Im running 21t on my p2k.

The P2k-2 and P-94 are two different motors. Look at the back of the December issue of Rccaraction. The P2K-2 is a cross between the GM3 and P2K.

Kojak61 has it right, it's a higher rpm P2K.
How is the P2k pro. If there stock motors are they like the tamiya stock ones are are they faster.
The P2K2 is basicly a P2k with less laminations, which gives you more RPM. It's powerband falls between GM3's high RPM's and P2k's High torque.
The P-94 is a new mod motor which should be availible soon, maybe even now ( i havent checked ). It has larger brushes for larger contact with the comm, and new magnets. Trinity has a conversion kit for other mod motors to put p-94 brushes on your current mod motor.

i race on a carpet banked oval and so far the GM3 is still outperforming the P2K pro and P2K-2 pro at the local track. I tried all 3 of them and the GM3 performed the best for me.

Yeah, I also run on a carpet track and the GM3's have totally wooped the P2K's and P2k2'S. Try a FANTOM Limited Edition. Its awesome!

Hey! Trevorrc do you mean the Fantom L.E. P2K or the Fantom L.E. GM3, I heard they both kick A$$

Hey Jackhammer74, at my track most people run Fantom L.E. GM3's. But if you need loads of torque, the P2K should suit your needs (even though some good Fantom GM3's get about the same torque as the P2K's). Either one you get, you'll be happy because they are $weet!

Well, with any luck guys, I should have some concrete info on the P2K2 after this weekend. I finally bought one & have already prepped it for racing(it was a non-Pro, so I gave it the works & set it up to my tastes). I haven't had time to do a dyno run yet, but I will when I get to the track & then I should also be able to run it in a car, so I'll let y'all know how it did......:)

Hey Grizz, I bought a non pro version P2k 2 yesterday myself. I am going to race it today in Stock Truck class. What is a good brush/spring setup for it. I have some 'E' brushes I could put in it, but will have to buy some springs. I have some teflon shims Im putting it also.
I finaly have my lathe so I can true the comm. I can't wait to see how it runs.
This is motor #2 for my motor collection. my other is a Pro P2K.

I suggest the REEDY #767 brush, for more power and torque, if you are looking for more RPM's, pick up some #768's. Break them in fully with a 4 cell battery pack. Use the Trinity red spring on the positive side, with green on the negative, pick up a new pair of the springs, as with heat, metal loses its elasticity, and becomes weak.

767's are what I'm tryig too, though as I said I haven't yet had time to put it on the dyno, so I'll have to wait till tonight or tommorrow to let y'all know how it did.....:)

I just got back from my race. The P2K2 is really fast! I was racing. The P2K was the fastest motor on the track. I was up against P2K, MVP,and a GM3. I could pull away from them anywhere. Through turns, down the straights... I owned everybody. Till the A main, then I forgot how to drive. Wound up in 6th, then came in 2nd. Missed 1st by 3 car lengths. Oh well Next time I will just calm down and drive my race.... Until Next race....The P2K I felt had as much torque as the P2K, and more top end speed. I don't have a dyno, but in the real world, it is going to be a dominator at my track...
