I have read on this site (amongs others) that some ABX owners have experienced the breaking of the forward wing elastic fastening post. This happened to me when my ABX was brand new! It had not even flown! I was just putting the wing on in the house to see how it looked! I used a small piece of wood as a substitute until a replacement arrived. Well, yesterday, it happened again, this time as I was taking the wing off after a flight. So, on both occasions, my plane was on the ground. (Lucky)! But I bet there are those out there who have suffered this failure at 200 foot. I am not going to order another post. I have no confidence in this part now. I made my own from a length of carbon fibre of the same diameter, cut to size. I urge all ABX owners to do this. I think I have been lucky on both occasions. I think the biggest problem is that these posts just break - snap! There is no warning, one minute they are fine, next they snap in the middle. Don't get caught out. Keep the end stops from the old one and make yourself a new one out of wood or carbon rod or other suitable material.
Happy landings (with the wing still on)!
Dave.
