I'm looking to get a "first" car and really can't decide between Tamiya's TL-01, TB-01, and HPI's RS4 Sport 2. As far as price goes, the RTR TL-01 seems like it would be a great deal. Yon get a motor, speed control, Radio, receiver, and a pretty decent assortment of "hop-ups". The TB-01 is built like the TC3 that everyone likes, but is considerably less. The HPI Sport 2 is based off the Pro 2 and seems like it would make an excellent "first" car. However it is $160 which is not too bad, but you don't get a motor or speed control, radio, or anything else for that matter.

I really can't decide which one to get, so I'm asking for all of your input in determining which way to go. Thanks again!

I have a TLO1 its s fine car, but you cant really use a motor under 15 turns because it only has 6 possible gear ratios. It has 3 pinions and 2 spurs you can put in. And I find its quite heave, though quite durable.

Yes, I say go with the tl01. Its shaft drive is virtually maintenance free, and it has bomb proof diffs. It's also high quality and will take a severe pounding with out breaking.

TL-01 all the way... why do you think it's called TL-01? (Tamiya's Learner 101) <-----------just a wild guess :D
