Who here is sponsored. If your sponsored, what all do they help you with and who sponsirs you. If you have decals on your car from there sponsor or a shirt hat or anything else can you show a pic of it. Do you earn monney or free stuff from the sponsor. I am just wondering cause it would be cool to get a sponsor. And if you got a sponsor how did you get it. Thanks in advance.

Usually when you are sponsored, unless you are "full ride," you get a certain price off of retail. This has a lot of restraints. If you have a tire sponsor, you WILL NOT, run other types of tires. If you have a Battery sponsor, you WILL NOT run any other brand batteries. You usually need to run some stickers on the car, and you usually don't get paid. Just reduced prices. The top guys that are sponsored usually get paid. This is more as a payment for their research and development time. It is nice to get the good prices, but it can also be a burden. These racers also need to send race reports to their sponsors.
To get sponsored, you usually need to make contact with the company, and then send in a resume with some current results. A big thing that they also look for is mentorship. They want to know what you are doing to promote/grow the hobby. Also, what are you going to do to promote their products.
Good luck.

Oh cool. Well I haven't asked anyone for a sponsor yet. The only thing I asked was a fewsompanies for stickers. I will put them on my mini T and send them a pic. Then I will enter a few races down in pheonix arizona. If they like what I am doing I will ask them for a few things in return like a discount on tires and keep there stickr on my car.

yea i havn't really run rc much, but recently started racing again. (almost won mod truck last thursday night at rc excitement in fitchburg MA) But about the sponsored thing I won the B main in the 1/8 gas regionals two years ago. After that and a few more wins I got 50% off Surge Batteries, BMI Chassis's, Unreal Graphix, Parma tires and bodies, Redline motors. It was fun but also a hassle. A pretty good friend of mine is a full Xray/ KO propo factory driver and travels a lot with racing.
If you want to get sponsored just get good, win R.O.A.R. Regionals or Nationals, send a resume to companies and see what happens. Trust me racing RC at that level is ridiculously expensive...

To win a regional, it depends on what region. There are a couple of regions that are a lot weaker, and a couple that are a lot stronger.

There are three forms of sponsorship Discounted - either at company's cost or 50%, Team Drivers - some items might be free, may or may not get some type of expense towards traveling, Factory Drivers are usually employed by the company, they are able to constant qualify in A mains but they might have more restrictions to vehicles and equipment they might be required to use.
Some forms of rc competition are much easier to get some type of sponsorship on a Discounted Basis, to obtain a Team Driver sponsorship you generally have to finish well in the standings consistantly winning or finishing well, attend regional and some national events to at least obtain some recognization. Becoming a Factory is like almost like winning the lottery, only a few drivers have the skill and consistancy to impress the big companies. Even some local hobby shops will offer something of a sponsorship to those who shop there often and race on their track.
Sometimes a sponsorship sounds great, but family or job requirements might come before the RC sponsor. That was my reason for dropping sponsors, I could not honestly fulfull the obligations of my sponsors.

I would say that Cali, Florida, Texas, and the Midwest, whatever regions those are, are the strongest. I know there are some fast guys coming from the east coast, but not nearly as many. So, with less faster guys, it would in theory be easier to win over there. Those would be the weaker areas.
