BK Pitch Gears

I'm going to be starting racing soon, and I'm reading discussions about 48 pitch vs. 64 pitch. Right now I only have a few pinions in each pitch, and I plan to buy a (nearly) complete set in one size or the other just for ease of tuning when I hit the track.

Does anybody have any opinions on BK pitch? Seems like it's a good compromise between 48/64. Will I be wasting my money by buying a bunch of pinions/spurs?

For pinions Robinson racing sells 2 differnt 6 pack of pinion gears if you wanted to Test out each pinion from 15 to 26. I think BK uses a 81T pitch gear. But he varies them every race. check out Teamlosi.com and goto setup sheets, they have BK setup sheets from like NORRCA and ROAR.

I think they are just another way for Trinity to take some more of your hard earned cash. Stick with 48p.
