Well, on monday I bought my glorious XXX-T spec, and in two days had it built. I have been screwing around with it non stop. Well thats not true though... I have to stop every 7 minutes cuz my batteries suc so hard! I get about 3 min out of each, One is a radio shack 2000mah and one is 1500 racers edge pack. So this weekend I am taking a trip to get new batteries. I want to get some 2400s, so who makes good ones in stick pack for under 50? And where can you find them cheapest?
Secondly, who knows where I can get some good aluminum shock towers, both front and back for the XXX-T? After having it land upside down a few times I know I am gonna want the security of the Aluminum Towers. And also, what kind of bearings should I get for the wheels? I think the stock bushings arent helping the run times either. Thanks a lot for the help, and now I am back outside, I hear my packs are done http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Dude, make sure you let your motor & batteries cool off before you use/charge them again.
Answers:
1) Integy sells matched 2400s for as low as $35, my friend just bought one. I'm not sure if they sell pre-assembled ones, though. Go check here.
2) I don't think anybody makes aluminum shock towers for the XXXT. Just stick with the stock plastic ones, they'll take the most abuse.
3) Buy 8 good teflon- or rubber-sealed 3/16" x 3/8" bearings. That'll be enough for all four wheels.
Have fun with that bad boy! Aren't you glad you didn't get a Rustler? You should be...

-sorry to say but no one makes alum shock towers, i think penguin makes carbon fiber re-enforcements for the stock front one. and i have yet to hear of a broken shock tower.
the things that i have broken and what i did breaking them
-rear pivot mount-jumping, if you plan on doing alot of jumping or you land squirmy alot then i highly suggest and alum one.
-rear pivot plate- a graphite one not only looks cool, but the holes around the stock one wear away after time
-bb steering, a great hop up, probably the most noticable, alot better steering
-a arms, hitting stuff which a certain tire first going full speed, not much you can upgrade here. just be careful
-rear axil bearings, i blew one in about 6 months from probably landing bad.
however the most important thing is a good set of tires, its amazing how the right tires can really hook you up.

Ok I am really bad at the different names of parts. The pivot mount and plate, are those located at the rear, where the transmission and motor are located? Also, Where would you install the ball bearings in the steering? How many do you need and what size? Thanks, and by the way, whats the biggest jump you've had with the truck?
