Hi everyone,

Built my first car, a TC3. Everything is put together including the painting of the body. However, i'm a little confuse on how to solder the engine, servo and ESC. Can anyone point me to where there's a step by step illustration (with pictures) on how to solder the electronics? I tried the search function and came up empty.

Thanks in advance.

How To: Install an ESC (http://www.rccaraction.com/articles/ht_install_esc.asp)

This article was in the magazine, and then published to the website. It's about switching from a MSC to an ESC, but it will show you how to solder everything and make all the necessary connections.

Okay, your Electronic speed controller, has a small, black connector, that is flat, that will go into the channel '2' in your receiver. Then, your steering servo will have a similar plug, that goes into the channel '1' of your receiver.

Now, for your motor, my guess is that you have bullet connectors, on your speed controller(they are the female side of the connection) that is covered in a clear, rubber like material, and your motor has no plugs. Well, I suggest, if your wires are long enough(which I am sure, are) that you cut off the connectors, and hardwire, straight to the motor, you will know the polarities of the motor, by looking at the top, where the motor tabs are, there will be a little '+' for the positive(red) side.

What type of speed controller do you have, and what type of motor do you have? that would help me better understand.

if your esc and motor came with connectors, you dont have to solder anything. you plug in the servo to your receiver.
