Not familiar with the area yet. This is the track right near Fayetteville correct? If so, thank god. I really didn't want to learn to drive on-road again. LOL Count me in about 6 weeks from now.

Thats Pro Truck John. You need Brushless n Lipos to run 20 minute mains. 6000 to 8000 mAh;)
They will be running a regular 1/10 stock n mod 2wd class for truck with 5min mains if I am not mistaken.
Its right outside the Sandhillls Raceway (Banked Oval) down in Vass. Its about a 45 minute drive from Hayes.
Brad
45 min form Hayes if you drive 150MPH its 36 miles from the parking lot racing the club does I will be taking some pics today to put on the web site
we hope that it will be a sucessfull venture we are looking for everyone to have fun, later this year we will have the 2006 manufacures duel dates TBD but last year was a blast and this year will be better working on manufactures help now last year we gave away a free kit, batteries, motors and many other things so keep the interest and help support the memeory of Fabio he committed his life to this sport/hobby

I hear ya' Nomac! I hope to be there on the 22nd. I will need to get my power supply fixed. Does anyone have a power supply they would like to get rid of? I had the best time at the PERM last year. What a cool group of racers! (even you, Crowder) You gonna' race Nomac? I have not seen a track since January.

cash....sure! i'd love to but.....i don't have a 1/10th 2wd truck anymore....I GOT A 4WD TRUCK!!! HAHA!!!!! been doing a little racin between the grove, charlotte, monkeybottom and king. i like the pro-truck class cause it's anything goes. and you KNOW how much of an outlaw i am!!!! it's an HPI nitro mt. not really a purpose-built racing truck but it sure is fun!!!
hey...monkeybottom is having their monthly race this saturday as well. i already promised my bud i'd be there. gotta see how our gas-to-electric 4WD's can do against the competition. just put the finishing touches on the HPI and he's picking the hotbodies up in a few. that thing is INCREDIBLE!!!!! 14.8 volts of 8000 mah li-po power combined with a high tork brushless system. man you gotta see it to believe it!!!!
not too sure but i think the track owner's gonna do an exibition race. it's aimed at showcasing these gas-electric conversions to the public. wish us luck! we plan to put on a good show!!!! (oh, and get brad too while you're at it.:D)

for us mapquest freaks: address is 4390 US Highway 1 North. The website and these forums are worthless if youre trying to find it.

eventually, i'll have a 22.2 volt G2R to whip up on people with. already worked out the setup, just need the funding. It's going to rock once its complete.
a 2 horsepower bl setup might be too much for off-road though.

Isn't the Off Road Fuel Nats this same weekend at The Farm?? One more question has the track been made any bigger since last year?
Pete give me a call sometime if you can. I need to find out if I can upgrade my T2 to make it more raceable or if i need to sell and buy new eventhough I don't want to..

byron...IMO the T2 is just fine for stock....mod (best)...or even pro-truck. just make sure the shock are freshly re-built (ya know the routine o-rings,spacers, oil). #2 pistons & 30 wt in the front...#1 pistons & 25wt in the rear. standard silver(F) & green(R) springs. rear bones level. if you need more pack in the shocks....just mix 35 with 30 wt in front and 30 with 25 wt in the rear. half wt's worked good for me at that track. oh, and make sure the chassis is pretty straight. and that'll 'bout do it. box stock is almost perfect for most tracks.
tires: losi red directionals up front(firm foam) and pro-line holeshot M3's in the rear (medium multi-stage foam). 87/18 is good to start with in stock. happy racing!!!
P.S. what touring cars do you still have?
well the track is srill 120x60 with a lay-out that has a lot of straits to it and tire will be step pins going to keep the track loomey this year to much work to get it packed like last year and to much sugar too HAHA

Pete I got a TC4 from Ron last year. Been working on it. I still have the HPI Sprint but I have been trying to sell it. It would make a decent first car but it isn't up to par with the TCs or newer stuff. If I don't sell it I am going to make it a drift car to play with.

If the track is loomy. The tires wont eat up as bad as hard pack.
Mr. Cash
07-18-2006, 10:29 AM
Did anyone run on the track this past weekend?
chance

I ran a couple of packs, the track still needs some grooming and a lot of water to settle it some. Surface is loamy/loose currently, bring step pins.

Well if the Big Perm is shutdown, does that mean that Sandhills Raceway is gone now too? All the links that I get when I google ar elike a year old? Anyone know the status of this/these tracks?

THe indoor raceway as well? Didn't this facility just host a ROAR championship in 2006? I never made it down there but in the pictures on line it looked like a first class track.

The guy that use to run the tracks (Fabio) past away. So his mother decided to shut everything down. The Big Perm as well as Sandhills Raceway will be missed.
