Anything else? I'm serious, I know nothing about electric, but really want to get into it. I haven't found a site that just has a ton of info I can read, so I'm relying on everyone on this forum.

Jeep, you OK? What's 14 supposed to mean?

Pro2, thanks, but keep it coming.

TC's handle completely differently then your GT. I would recommend starting in stock class. Get yourself a new Team Orion Chrome or Peak stock motor to start off with. I just sold all my TC stuff. I found it takes more setting up then a truck and didn't want to take away the time from my son. Here are my thoughts, they will be random and just my opinions.

Money well spent:
If you are going to race, talk to the people at your track and see what car they like and have parts support for. Since you have an Assoc, the TC3 is a good choice but make sure others race it there.

A good speed control is money well spent. I would just recommend you get a Novak Atom or Cyclone right off the bat. They do send more power to the motor and brake better then cheaper units.

Tires are even more critical then off road. Get good low profile slicks and good inserts based off of what people at your track say are good tires. I wasted $200 to $300 on bad tires just wanting 4 or 5 sets not paying attention to what works locally. Even on a newly paved surface, you will probably need tire compound

You can get a good charger at a reasonable price. Make sure it's a peak and not a timed charge. I think the Pirahna's are good value for the money with their high end around $110.

Get 3 or 4 sets of springs based again on what the people at your track say.

Get Deans connectors for all your batteries and motors. The money you spend on it will be made up for in convienence and power transfer down the line.

You will need a battery discharger. Get one and use it or you will ruin your batteries effecctiveness. The Deans again seems popular.

Money wasted:
Unlike your truck, you don't need high end servos, the regular ones are fine unless your a constant A main competative racer.

Most hop ups don't do anything on a TC other then make it look good. I'm a hop up freak and my pro 2 had more purple on it then Prince, but I will be the first 2 admit most of it was flash, not function.

Batteries. I go against the tide here but I think high end batteries are a waste of money. I picked up 7 used 2000 matched packs on ebay for about $120 and always had enough power and always finished the race and then some. I can't imagine spending $100 on one pack of the latest and great batteries. You can get new 2000 matched packs for about $30 these days and their more then adequate for stock racing.

a s diode stops your esc from getting fryed dont drive with out at least one solder one near your plug to the motor and one on the motor too it will keep your esc nice and safe :D

rc1ogtman, If you are going to race your sedan go with a Factory Team TC3. This kit has it all, no hop-up parts required. Just add a radio, body, tires, wheels, battery and some electronics.
If you are planning on running a stock class go with 2000 cell matched packs that you can assmble yourself. 2000 cell packs have the most punch out of the corners. If you want to run mod go with panisonic 3000 cell matched packs, for the run time.
As for servos try and go with something like an Airtronics 94737 this servo has .15 sec. transist time which is plenty when your just starting. It cost about $60.00 not to bad.
As for a speed control, go with a cyclone TC2 or (LRP SR for stock) (LRP V7.1 for mod).
The cyclone TC2 can be use for both stock and modified racing.
Go with something like a Novak millennium charger or a Apex Sigma Plus charger, these are both great deals for there capabilities.

Hope this helps,TCRACER
