tie a lenght of fishing line to the end of the antenna. Then thread the other end of the fishing line through the tube. Now, just pull the antenna through the tube with the fishing line. Hope this helps.

Just wipe the antenna with a bit of WD40 , and straigten up the wire a bit before putting it through the antenna. Easiest way to do this is to loop it around a screwdriver and sort of roll it straight. Make sure you hold on to the antenna where it joins the case though so it doesn't come off. ;)

if your in a pinch, you can take the tube off and spit down it then put the wire back in.

use wd40 or silicone spray. spray it on a paper towel and wipe the wire with it a few times. both will evaporate and not leave any residue.

I've found putting a few sprays of windex in the palm of your hand then pulling the wire through the Windex always gets the wire thru the tube. It evaporates eventually and there's little to no mess left.

I use long Yokomo antenna tubes only and the wire def needs the help.

hopefully you didn't spray anything on it yet... It is actually 10x's easier when it is dry. I use baby powder on the wire and string it right on through. the fishing line trick works well too.

He's already got it, but it's all good - I found this a bit humorous, but then I'm easily amused -

Any tricks to getting antenna tubing on the wire?

As everyone's indicated, it quite a bit easier if you try to put the wire in the tube instead of pushing the tube back on the wire. :D

Like threading a needle, watch a woman do it and then watch a man do it. A man will push the the thread toward the eye of the needle while women will move the needle toward the thread. No symbolism there, uh- uh . . . .

Wd 40 leave a residue and it attracts dirt. My way is natural and cheap. Just Moisten your thumb and forefigure with spit. and start shuving thru the tube!! easy!! Or get some bubble solution( kid play with) if you dont likie to spit!! lol!!

I'm a big fan of the ton of spit method. I also--before adding spit--run the antenna through two tightly closed fingers. Don't pull so hard as to break the antenna, but this will take any kinks out of the antenna and help it go right in.

For a sure way of doing it every time, take a piece of sewing thread, just stick in about 1/2 inch of thread in the tube, suck the thread through the tube on the other end, and then tie a halph hitch not on the antenna and pull it through.
Works every time!

:D Who'd have thought something so simple could end up being so "technical"

Really there's no need for sewing needles , spitting into tubes or on the wire ( I know you germaphobes are all just a shuddering out there!! )

Like I said earlier , just straigthen out the wire with a screwdriver or something smooth. Mainly it's the kinks that make it hard for the wire to go through. You can then use WD-40 or some light grease even if required. It doesn't leave much of a residue , I've been doing it for years ... in fact it keeps the wire quite clean!

Some antenna tubes also have a bigger inner diameter so you might look for that next time your at the LHS , as it's bound to come off again. ;)

To keep your nephew from pulling it out, or you from pulling it out. Use shrink tubing on the top of antenna and add heat (permenant, just use razor to remove). lol!!

i guess im just lucky, I used to just straighten out the wire and it would slide right in the tube if it was nice and straight, now with spektrum my antenna is only 5 inches long and the wire like 8 so its no problem

Hah this is actually a really good topic for new comers. I remember when i first got my Mini-T I couldn't thread it through if my life depended on it.

Best thing to do is just run the antenna through your thumb and forefinger like ribbon until all the creases are out of it.
