A while back(probably 3 years ago) I got a pretty sweet trinity stock motor for my RC10 B2. It ran awesome for about 3-5 runs, but now its very slow. I'm guessing its just the brushes, but **** ... 3 runs?!? Is that all you can expect out of a set of new brushes?

Perhaps some dirt/grit got in the motor and wore out the comm/brush faces? Unless you're a really serious racer, you won't need to change brushes after 3 runs. Maybe the contacts are dirty? The bushings are dirty and are causing more friction?
From what I've been told, you really don't need to change your brushes until they are worn down to about 1/2 their original length. I've had a P2K for almost a year now and haven't changed the brushes yet and it works fine.

It just depends on what you're doing with it. If you're just bashing, then don't worry much about changing them very often(though you really should do it regularly, maybe every 15-20 runs absolute maximum). However, if you're racing seriously & you're a good enough driver, you will notice a drop off of performance in about 4-8 runs with the best stock brushes(a good deal of silver, high comm wear), so it'd be best to change them about every race day or so to keep it running at its best. You also need to be sure to retrue the comm EVERY time you change the brushes, otherwise the comm will just wear down even faster & the motor won't perform very well..... :)

I know i have a trinity d4 6turn motor and I burn brushes out in three runs but if your motor is stock I would just put new brushes in clean it cut the comm and add some comm drops because that is what we did with my friends old motor and it increased his run time excelleration and top speed
