I was wondering how you should store nicad batteries during the off season. This is my 3rd year in rc and my first with some decent batteries. Thanks

There is no off season for RC. It's fun year round!

No off season here either! In the Winter we race indoors every weekend! But before I raced indoors, I used to fully charge them up and leave them in a battery case.

NiCads are better off with a minimum charge in them for longevity. The best way , in my opinion , is to equalize them down to 0 volts, & then dead short them. We have been dead shorting for about 4 years, & the packs still act like new, even after 6 month layoffs. If you don't want to dead short them at least get 90% protection by equalizing them down on a tray. Just my $.02

get a battery tray with a cutoff. remove them when the battery has equalized. in my case, i cycle my packs once a month, although i dont think this is necessary for nicads.
