Well, now I can't be sure(it's been QUITE awhile since I've had one or seen them), but if my memory serves. that motor might be a 14x1 wind(machine wound also, if I'm not mistaken). I think it was one of the first serious attempts at a budget mod motor(much like today's Speed Gems motors). Not a bad motor for its time, but I wouldn't be surprised if today's 19 turn motors could outrun it....

It is a stock motor. I used to run them way back in the early 90's. They were the fastest stock motors out at the time.

The Speedworks motors were always a modified motor, the Trinity/Epic lines were stock, or modified. Can't remember exactly when the modified version were introduced but I would say late 80's, there was a Stock version called the Joel Johnson Stock that was 34degrees of timing.
Can't remember the exact turn/wind as there were several other versions of the Speedworks motors 350, 427, SpeedWorks Superstock (23 turns). There was never a legal 27turn stock motor.
