I'm not sure.
One has belt, the other shaft.
What do you think? Any advice?

Well, they are both sweet looking rides and im sure both wil do well. From my experience/preferance and what people have said, shaft is better for stock racing and belt is better for mod. I asume your going to race with a quality car like this. If you go w/ an EVO 5 let us know how it is, i really like that car.

Both are excellent cars. Especially for racing. I'd say it would depend on wether or not you're going to be racing, and what class. Twism86 pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as what to use for either class.
If you're not racing, I would recommend the shaft-driven one because you won't annihilate belts if you get some debris stuck in the drivetrain.
Both are excellent racers, and handle well.
Hope this helps,

Kinda off topic but why is belt better for mod?

It's all physics. Torque, more specifically. If you think about it, when you spin a driveshaft and parallel to motor (lengthwise mounted) drivetrain system, you create torque. You do the same with the pulley/belt system, but the parts are spinning in a different direction.
That same torque created by the motor and parts in a shaft car seem to disturb balance and can cause "torque steer". The torque is directed in another direction than the car is going. If you look at belt cars, the motor's torque is directed lengthwise, forward/backwards. This does not mess with balance, and the energy is directed towards where the car is going.
I guess you could also look at it from the rotating mass perspective, as with shaft cars your motor is lengthwise, so the mechanical energy has to be transferred to the wheels, but needs to be turned 90* first. That means extra gears, diffs, hardware. With belt driven cars, that mechanical energy can easily be transferred to the wheels, as essentially all you need to do is stick driveshafts into the system.
I honestly don't think it's quite that much a difference, but I don't race, and a shaft drive car and a belt drive car are all the same to me. Motor, electronics and 4 wheels. I consider it one of those things that you don't need to really worry about unless you're seriously racing.
Hope this helps

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Well, I got the MSX. If I don't like belts, I can always sell it and get the EVO5 later.
