Just wanted to start a thread for all those interested in talking about this new Tamiya kit. We have a fairly successful thread started on another forum that I wanted to continue here. This is a place to post and share information on this kit. There are at least two people (maybe more) who currently own this kit, so shoot away with any questions or suggestions.

I believe RCCA did a piece on the RTR last month. Is it as good as they say? What hop ups are needed?

Yeah, it's a great little truck, and it looks great. I would recommend it to beginners and veterans alike. The scale realism is hard to beat in a production kit. Performance-wise it's no stadium truck, but it's still a lot of fun. For those interested, RCCA did a review on it in their February issue; High Torque's R/C Car reviewed it in their February issue, and it is featured heavily in there article on rock-crawling in their April issue (just hitting the news stands). The last article includes tips on modding for those interested in scale realism. We have covered many of these issues in our other forum, so if you are interested, I can let you know where to go, or we can get this thread started.
By the way, I think this goes without saying that this forum is also a great place for people owning Tamiya Wranglers, Pajero Metal Tops, and Isuzu Mu's, as they all share the same chassis.

Thanks for dropping by Scrambler (and all for that matter). Folks, if you have any questions about upgrading to oil dampers, Scrambler's been through it. He's the man with the info.
