I'm new to the boating world, but have been into airplanes and Nitro cars for quite some time. I have a plastic mono hull that appears to be a pretty decent design. it measures 31" long and has an 8" beam. i will be fabricating the tray, plywood stringers, hatch cover, and engine mounts, but here comes the questions: What size nitro engine would allow this boat to perform well in the upper sport range? is gasoline an option for this hull? Are there manufacturers out there that I could purchase the hardware for drives, and rudders? Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but it seems like the manufacturers are leaning towards only providing smaller electric ready to run equipment. Any help would be appreciated.

Engine: .21 or 3.5cc

This is about the normal engine for the size boat you have.

Hardware: Rocket City (http://www.rocketcityracing.com/pilot.asp)

Offshore Electrics (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/MainPage.htm)

These places will get you in the right direction. :)

make sure you do some research before you buy glue of any sort to bond pieces to the plastic hull. many epoxies will not stick to ABS plastic. CA may be fine for some smaller parts, but not installing stringers.
