battery questions

Hello
I have a question or two. I have an extra battery from a Radio Shack Wind Streaker 2( a 900 mah battery) I have a Novak Rooster ESC and a Trinity Speed Gems 2 Ruby(16 triple) motor. Would this cause any damage to the ESC or motor? How long could I use it for? It's a 9.8 Volt and I have the correct charger for it, too.

That battery wont have enough power to move your car. It will probably be overload because of the 9.8 volts, but not enough MAH to make it move for any length. Keep them in Tyco/Nikko cars where they belong. Besides they can only power those cheap under 540 motors (I think they're 380's, maybe more).

My question is why would you use such a usless battery in powerful r/c technology and not those old Tycos (which were used in races during the early 60s for racing tell me abotu it). Spend money to get 1500s if yo uwant which last no more than 1 to 3 minutes. Or be like teh pros (Me) and get 2400s that last from 15 to 25 minutes.
