i think im gonna scrap my p2k and pick up a new one, because i was running it at a big event, (the windy city classic) in bolingbrook illinois. before the race i used it in my TC3 in the street. and then put it in my B3 and practiced some at the track. then before i went the (WCC) i changed the brushes and cleaned the motor then at the practice day i used the car and then into the first qualifier it was good then changed the brushes without cleaning the motor. then went in qualifier and half way in the race it got really slow. and i changed the brushes again and it stayed slow. i was using a air compressor to clean the motor but that wasn't working and i was driving better than them but couldn't stay with them. i also was getting really short battery run times. i don't have a com cutter and the only place to cut it is too far away. i would have done so good but performance suffered. anyway we only got through 4 quallifiers then it rained out. but just before we were about to run the mains my motor wouldn't work the car was on the motor would work. and when it did work it was so slow and then it would stop again. but we didn't finish the race. but now i cleaned out my motor and my performance is really bad. so should im gonna scrap the motor and get a new one and clean it out before changing the brushes. so if your gonna change your brushes clean your motor out. especially if its a once a year event. the fastest lap was a 14lap and when my motor was running good they said i was on a 14 lap pace then something on the track got caught up in my tire and ripped out the cvd, do you think that could have made my motor the way it is?

be fore u do ne thing take out the timing ring and if its bent put it in a vice and put it back to flat...trust me you'll be suprised, those rings are only aluminum, with heat they can bend very easily, but nothing beats getting a comm cut

I remember that day, but it was recent right? The Windy City you went to was like a year ago. Wasn't it like 7-8 weeks ago, or was it recent. Before you scrap it, let me look at it. I will try to go on Sunday (not the 29th) the week after or 2 weeks after the 29th. Im that kid that races his GT there, ask about me, or search for me. I want to look at the motor if you still have it because if been into electric for like 4 years, and tried building my own mod motor one time (it turned out to be stock motor instructions=stock motor). Hope I can help in a week or 2, and one day. By the way, whats your name again? Im James with channel 73.

Sounds like you just need to cut the comm. And don't straighten the timing ring, it is supposed to be bent in the P2K.

Yep, get your comm cut at least befire the brushes wear out, I get mine cut every 6-9 runs, and try the Reedy 767 brushes, they are AWESOME! i use them in mine, and it is faster than any other brush i have tried

i was at the track on the 29th and baught a new motor and i didn't scrap my motor yet, i've also been into this sport for 4yrs. and i'm no beginner, im Tony or Anthony on channel (1), RED B3. i saw a big difference in it but you all know how your car runs when it's got batteries in it charged wrong. so JP will you be there Nov, 05 i will. i'll also be there on friday. and saturday. when you guys say timing ring do you mean the 3 washers above the brushes, the 2 metal rings and plastic ring. could it also be that i lost one of the metal washers that its acting up.

hey you guys said that i should cut the comm, cause i never do with any of my motors, so could you help me find a cheap one, cause they're too expensive for me.

plus JP do you know anyone who wants to buy a Traxxus rustler with motor only its 80 bucks. do you know anyone who wants to buy a ready to run team T2 with hop-ups for 150 bucks. or a MX4 for 300 bucks with a lot of perfectly glued tires. or a B3 with hop-ups for 150 bucks

No, it is what keeps the magnet clip in, it is silver

TC3-I dunno anyone that would be interested, remember, im 14! Post it at our track, im sure Jim will let you. The timing ring is silver with like a few notches in it (to keep it in place after you turn it), it holds the top part of the magnets down. If you dont want to spend $200+ on a lathe and then a power supply, RMR has one. You pay them like 5 or less bucks plus they have a magnet zapper too I think.
