I've heard rumors about the ta03 not being able to withstand hot modified motors (under 12 turns) or else it will chew the gears up. Is this true? What would I have to do to fix this?

off the subject, does anyone know of a good online hobby shop that accepts paypal?

It is a rumor, I found RRP has a steel conversion kit tor the TAO3. You'll never have a problem. I'm running 9x3 Orion. You might also try to just over grease the gears a little and drill holes here and there to allow air in the gear cases.

Your other question I don't have a clue.

Hey it might be true... but i never stripped a gear... i use a 12x4 D3.5... and i use bigger pinion... i'm guessing you just gotta mesh the pinion and spur gear right... if not then it may strip... hmmmm the biggest pinion i used on my 03s are 38 tooth... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks for the clarification. I was looking at the RRP site, but they didn't have any specific sets for any tamiya cars. What gears did you get?
