I am considering buying Lipos from Maxamps. They have 6000 mAh packs for $80 and 8000 mAh packs for $110. Those are very good prices from what I can tell. I'd use an MRC 977 charger (keep in mind it can only charge lipos at 2.5 amps though), Hyperion LBA6 balancer, and an FMA low voltage cutoff. I haven't bought any of this stuff yet but I am considering it. Seems like a good setup so far. I'm sure other folks will have additional recommendations.

I have a max amp 8000 lipo and like it. Many people think Thunder power puts out a better battery. All I know is my 8000 is enough. As far as chargers I use an astro flight 109. Love it. It is lipo only. You may want to look at the Duratrax Ice or the Thunder Power chargers. I have a Triton that charges at 2.5 amps and it works fine just to slow.

I am going away from the triton because many accidents seem to happen from people mischarging their batteries. Well if my charger only does lipo I have removed once source of mischarge. Now I just check to make sure it recognized the right cell count and the amps are correct.
