Look! its a bird....... its a plane............its...its....a savage? or maybe a revo? NO! its BOTH!!!!!!!!!! this is my friends custom savage revo mix. everyone was fighting over what was better, the revo or the savage, so he just combined them! we were at our track yesterday, XRC Sports ( http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?p=2027908#post2027908 ) and he ran it for a bit. it hooks up like a dream, out hadles any car on the track, and it jumps and lands like it was made for that perpose, but its a little slow, and that was just because it was REALLY rich and the gearing was realy low, so that will be changed. but right now, it looks fast! and trust me, it will be. by the way, this truck is fz1's truck, i just thought i would post it here for him because i dont think he has yet.

I love hybrids, a long time ago I made a monster pirate with t-maxx suspension. That was a great truck until it was stolen.
Good work, its fun having something unique.

LOL! I knew he had something brewing in his "evil lab". That's awesome though. Can't wait to see it in action.
So what does he call it? A RAVAGE or SAVO or what?

This is what happens when you leave a Savage and a young REVO alone and unsupervised. Nine months later this thing pops out.

it looks like it has savage arms and using revo pushrods, rockers, and shocks. it's too crowded for me to see the drivetrain.
Well the only thing left savage is mostly savage x parts.
1 suspension arms are savage.
2. Front and rear diffs, shock towers, bumpers are savage x.
3. Dogbones and steering knuckles and axles are savage.
4. Gas tank and mounts are savage.
5. newer servo saver and steering link are savage.
I think thats it for savage parts.
Revo parts are:
1. shocks
2. Rocker arms but aftermarket ones.
3. Connecting links to the suspension arms.
Thats it for the revo parts.
Diff is from Koyosho buggy that uses the fiber disc brakes.
drive shafts are from a lsp.
Radio box is lightning.
servo tray is from lightning buggy.
All of the rest of the parts are hand made. Even the rocker shafts. Mounts for the shafts were the hardest to figure out as the shocks do not have the room to mount the same as on a revo. The inside of the shock towers had to be cut out for them to fit. Strength is not a problem as they only hold the body now and doesn't support the stock shocks now.
How does it handle???
All I can say is I have never driven a truck that handles like it does now. I have mostly driven it on a real loose and dusty track so far. Compared to my savage using the same tires and lowered suspension there is no comparison. It doesn't twitch or sway. Jumps are a breeze with nice takeoffs and nice flat landings. no bounce at all. I might put some different springs in yet to start final tuning of the suspension.
These are some of the build pics.

Now I call it the unsavage. But lets give it a name.
First one to give it a real good name gets a free rounded off allen wrench. LOL
Ravage?
Savo?
Norbert?
(I need that wrench!)

^^ Lol where'd Norbert come from?
Nice! From which vehicle (savage or revo) do the majority of the parts come from (or are made for)? Maybe you can call it "franken-savage" (or franken-revo, if that's the case). Anyways, very unique, and excellent craftsmanship. I really like it. SWEEEET! :)

lol, note that he said "rounded off allen wrench" meaning a stripped allen wrench. anyways, i came up with Savo, and i personally think it takes the cake!

Maybe so but I can't wait to see how it does against you modded revo. If it doesn't do good I'll just kick your rear with the lsp. But we both have to watch out for tim. We were just playing around on the new track to see what would be the best layout to race and neither one of us were really able to loose each other. All the tubes were put in sunday and the drivers stand was moved into place. Hopefully the rain helped settle in the dust so we can get things rolling soon.

Dave, you da man!!!!! Seriously, that thing is awesome and I would be proud to get my butt kicked by it. Real nice work.
I'll debut my new modded REVO on July 4th weekend. I have 4 days off in a row and I need to do some tuning.
My submission for the name contest is "Savareosho LightLSP". Like Smib I need that Allen wrench. I used to have a full set of worn out wrenches but I had to sharpen one so now I am one short!

lol NOPE! slick fz1 got you again. those are not savage TVPs, its flat sheet metal with custom cut outs. in other words, its not savage tvps, they are custom tvps.
Including the center backbone that runs from the front to rear. This chassis is actually stronger fron to back than my savage was.
