hey,
i would think that the tc3 is a good tc because most people have one including me,
a good upgrade would be the titaium turnbuckles, i have seen the rally conversion, its pretty cool but im not sure if you can jump it without strippin the gears.
i hope that answers some of your questions

For the money. Its most positively the factory team version.

I have a TC3 and I love it. There are a ton of upgrades for it. I may be getting a friends TC3 and converting it with the rally kit just so I can run it around in the yard.

Associatedman- Ya know, I was thinking about what you said about stripping the gears... it seems like they could make a slipper clutch that would hook up to the spur gear... just a though, I don't know ;-)

Hi,
I want to buy a TC3 Racer kit, but I'm concerned about the composite CVDs. How durable are they? I only plan to run the car on carpet and tarmac - no rally conversions. Thanks.

The composite CVD's are just fine, they're very strong, & they don't bend like aluminum or steel ones do, so they work perfectly right up until they break. In fact, because they're also lighter than the others(even aluminum), a lot of sponsored racers use them over the others(less rotating mass means better acceleration), & also because they're dirt cheap to replace. Those of us who use the one-ways in our TC3's have to worry about breaking CVD's when we hit things(even the aluminum ones break pretty easily when using a one-way) realized that AE's blue CVD's(the aluminum ones) cost about $20 per PAIR, while the composite ones only cost $10 for FOUR of them(so they cost $2.50 apiece, instead of $10 apiece). So don't worry about the composites, I think you'll be very happy with them.... :)

Oh yeah I forgot which are the best tires? I will probably run it on normal roads. Thanks.

regular v rage tire's hold up well on different surfaces. You might want to pick up some hard compound belted tires for a little longer life.

I need to get a pinion for my new TC3. I have only ordered the car so I have not seen it yet, but what pitch are the gears? I also plan to run a Green Machine 3 and/or a P2K.

Are HPI tries good, and which one is the best for most types of roads? Thanks.

Yawn,
I have HPI's X-pattern belted tires in Pro compound and they work quite well on most tarmac and concrete surfaces.
