I have a weller 35w (wp35) solder iron. My question is, is this solder iron have enough power to make batteries and solder all the connection (hard wire) in the car, or do I need to pick up a more powerful one? What do you recommend if I need a new one (50w?) and why? Any help is much appreciated. Thank's

Well, a 35W model may work, but it'll be more difficult to solder batteries than with a higher power one. Fpr batteries, I'd recommend no less than a good 45 Watt iron, & make sure it has a good-sized tip to aid heat transfer..... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

I have had great success building packs and doing standard solder work with a 40W Weller. My recommendation is to use liquid flux when applying solder to wires. It helps them "absorb" the hot solder more evenly.

Where do you get liquid flux and what brand is best?

Get a 45 watt. It is like a standard solder iron.

Liquid flux can usually be found at the local electronics parts place. I don't mean Radio Shack as they are not what they use to be. As for a brand name, well I can't help you there but I can assure you liquid flux is good stuff.
