team losi XXXT or AE factory team T3?

i read the shoot out by rccaraction and i still can't decide.i have a hpi nitro mt and i'm used to 4wd. and i heard the xxxt is easier to drive but i love all the sweet parts that come with the factory team. so please help me out. the track i would be racing on is small and tight with one big jump and alot of small ones. thanks alot

I love ae, always have and always will. I would get the FTT3. The XXXT MF edition will be quite sweet I'm sure. The nice thing about ae, if you still own your truck 10 years from now, chances are you will still be able to get parts for it.

I just got my T3 one week ago, and I love it. It is so smooth, so stable, and oh so quick. Lands great off of every jump and I don't ever drive or take it easy. I am driving the _____ out of it every day and can't get enough. Definetly go with AE, they are the best (plus the ladies love em) :D.

Both trucks are very competitive. I choose the FTT3 and couldn't be happier. The reason I choose the T3 is because of the availability of parts (I work 10 minutes from AE HQ and can get any part I need M-F).

you should check to see what parts are available at your lhs too. I would sugest the xxxt. The t3 is geting outdated and the MF edition will be awsome. Look at the results of the shootout

yeah the only thing i don't like about the MF edition is i think the body is very ugly. i think i might call up my lhs and see what they carry more of. oh yeah and by the way when i'm not racing how do they do on grass because i'm only used to elec. on pavement.how long has the ftt3 been out cause i don't want to get it then a ftt4 come out. and the same with the losi they seem like they come out with more kits more often i don't want to feel like i have an old truck until it really is old. thanks

I like the XXXt MF edition, but I got a question. I always was told, one of the first things to do, is trash the stock Rodends, and buy RPMs. People who own the original XXXT, how good are the stock ends? I have a FTT3 right now, and the stock ones were not good IMO, I replaced all with RPMs. Just wondering, also, anyone try to dye the RPM yellows, to red yet?

if u want a trick out losi car want for the matt francis edition xxx-t. my friend t3 strip alot of servos and they where metal gear ball bearing. :D :rolleyes:

Well then he must hit lots of stuff... :D :p True, the T3's servo saver is a little tight(which may be part of the reason your friend strips the servos), but if you assemble it with some grease it should be fine. I have only stripped one servo on my T3 and that was when i couldn't drive all that well and it had a 14 turn mod, which was a little fast for me at the time... :rolleyes: The T3 is a great truck, though you can't go wrong with either.

the stock losi ball cups are great. The t3 has been out for almost 5 years.

Here is something to consisder.
My cousin and I are the same age (35, maybe I shouldnt admit that)and of the same skill level. We race in Intermediate Stock Truck. He has a XXXT and I have a T3. We both have all the best stuff on our trucks. Out of the last 20 races, he has only beaten me 1 time. We both pop a ballcup now and then but neither of our trucks has really broken. Both are very strong. For racing, I (with my T3) consistently outqualify and beat him in the mains. My truck is just better. :D

staggsracing, let your cousin race with your car 10 times while you race with the losi. If you still beat him, maybe you're just a better driver and it has less to do with your car.

I've built both trucks for someone else (haven't driven them) and prefer the Stealth tranny over the Losi tranny. The Stealth was just smoother, IMO. For that reason, I'd go with the FTT3.

You need to drive both cars for yourself. All the posts are bias towards one truck. I have OWNED both trucks, and they BOTH are great trucks. My favorite is the XXXT, but that is because of my driving style. Fact remains, you cant ask which car is BETTER, they have both proven themselves to be the only 2 trucks to even consider.

Just my opinion but...I'd go with the xxxt. It beats the crap out of the ftt3 in the nats even without the graphite parts the ftt3 has. Just imagine the lead it will have with the mf edition. As for the rod ends, my friend has broken two on his xxxt and I have cracked at least two on mine. YOu should definetly get the rpm ones. Their like 5 bucks for a whole set and are guaranteed unbreakable. I have them on most of my cars and I haven't broken one and I refuse to go easy on the throttle.

Threads like this are completely useless.

For you to make up you mind, you need to take a good look at each truck, and then decide. And don't base it on driving someone elses, they may not have it set up correctly, not have to right tires, etc.

The trucks are very equal, and can be setup to do just about anything you want them too. And now with the Francis Ed. Losi, both trucks are available fully loaded.

I just got a T3, but i think I would have gone with the XXXT MF edition if i had the money, I just like losi bettre, but I needed a rcing truck and didnt have the money right then. The T3 is still a VERY GREAT TRUCK compared to my STAMPEDE!!!

i would get the MF. Matt Francis raced at my track on saturday and i got to talk to him and he had his MF XXXT out with the new body. It actually looks better in person. In my opinion the losi is a little less twitchy and and T3 is a little more unstable at high speeds and small bumps.

You are hearing things that are not helping in anyway. Iv been here for awhile and have seen many of many of post like this one.

All you are going to hear is go AE, go Losi, which are all opinions IMHO this thread is getting you no where fast! Im not trying to sound like a butt or anything but what you need to do is pick the one you like, find out the FACT's and not base which truck your going to get on Opinions. If you do you wish you never had.

Iv had both trucks, and they were awesome (well basicly I bought a FT T3 due to the fact of all the factory team goodies that don't help you besides the Ti turn buckles). I now have a XXXT iv spent time and money into and its basicly a MF edition truck with Yellow replacing all the red parts. Now the reason I sold the T3 is because I tested a XXXT and was hooked. I love the driving style, and numbers of other things. Just get what you think you like....again im going to say Don't buy one of the Truck's based on Everyone else's Opinion's!

I would say that you should go for the XXXT. i have one and it is great. but my friend has a T3 and we race all the time. both the cars seem about even untill we get in the air. my XXXT is much more stable and MUCH more responaive to throttle inputs to level it out. my car also turns much better than his. it has a lot of on-power push, but as soon as i let off the gas it turns on a dime. the T3 seems more neutral to on or off power turns. i hope that this helps...

heh you got that right. "associated is the best, screw the rest" All the Associated posted are biased which is why im anti-associated!! haah lol j/p. I would go with losi because I think they are so much better. They handle so well which is why they are faster. One thing I noticed is everyone with associated is biased. And the losi body isn't ugly. I personaly think all the associated ones are. I mean when will they make a nice body for the TC3? I want a corvette or a muscle car. Plus remember how the base losi beat a fully hoped up T3? Associated is like microsoft. enough said.
