Can you charge these batteries with a conventional charger? I have a Protec ac/dc adjustable charger and want to charge my receiver packs and some AAA's for a Mini z.How many amps and for how long should you charge 4 AAA's?

To charge AAA's, go for low3st charger rate possible. Anything over about .5amps is too high.

If your charger doesn't do peak detection, then you have to be careful when charging the NIMh batteries. Charge them until they become just warmer than room temp. NIMh are supposedly damageable if you overcharge them and when they begin to get worm, that's your indication they are ready. Here is a good link to NIMh battery info:http://www.rccaraction.com/articles/NiMHbatcare1.asp

Also, I charge my AA NIMh cells at .5 amps and this works pretty well but from a discharged pack to full charge can take 45 minutes.

Your mileage may vary.
