I tried out a sharpened, balanced Octura X430 prop on my EP1 Outboard/Bass Boat. I thought it would run cooler and longer than with the stock prop which is a larger 32 mm prop (plastic). Everything seemed hotter and if anything the run time was a bit less with the X430. Does this prop have a greater pitch despite being smaller? The water was still which may have increased drag a little. Also I did not get the impression the motor was running slower. One other observation was the drive dog had been tightened a lot harder on the shaft by the X430 indicating it was exerting more torque. Does any of this make sense?

the stock prop on the bass boat may have less pitch than the 430. i don't think the specs are available for the aquacraft mystery props. we had lot's of fun a year or two ago trying to figure out the prop on the nitro hammer (and i still don't think we ever figured it out). if you can adjust the outdrive, it may help to raise the motor, or angle the prop up. it would help free up the prop, thus lowering amp draw which would bring down the heat.
