Losi XXX-T Series???

I'm lookin' into to getting an old xxx-t Spec series truck (the one w/ the blue tires) off of Ebay and I was wondering if the older platform xxx-t is pretty cmpativle with the new platform like the mf2. I know the transmissions are different but is everything else pretty compatible?

The original XXX-T's are good, but don't get the blue spec version...I don't think it even comes with bearings.

You can get a used MF1 dirt cheap off eBay.

The blue spec version came with bearings in the tranny only, and the tires smelled really bad
